Buying a Towbar in the UK
Whether you are towing a caravan, carrying bikes, or moving a trailer for the allotment, the towbar you choose matters. We stock vehicle specific kits from the brands the trade actually use, with the dedicated wiring and coding modules that keep your vehicle systems running as intended.
Vehicle Specific vs Universal
Every towbar in our catalogue is a vehicle specific kit. That means the bracket is tested and type approved for your exact make and model, and the wiring kit is matched to your vehicles electrical architecture. Universal kits still exist but we do not recommend them for anything newer than around 2010, as they will often throw bulb warnings and disable trailer stability features.
Which Brands We Stock
The UK towbar market is dominated by a small group of manufacturers. We stock Westfalia, Brink, Witter, PCT, and GDW. Each has strengths on different vehicle platforms and we will match you to the right one at the product level, not just by price.
For electrics we use the manufacturer approved dedicated kit for every vehicle we list. On some vehicles that is a PCT kit, on others it is a specific OEM module. The product page tells you which.

Fitting It Yourself
If you are confident with vehicle work, most of our kits can be fitted at home over a weekend. Each ships with the manufacturer fitting instructions. The one area that trips people up is the dedicated electrics, particularly on vehicles that require coding. If you run into trouble at that step, add our mobile fitting service and we can finish the job for you.
